How do we trust in the Lord with all our hearts?
1.) Abandon all dependence on what we know
A. Divides our heart
B. Our minds are corrupted
Psalm 94:19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.
Romans 12:3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgement, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
C. Our thoughts are contrary to God's thoughts
Isaiah 55:8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
2.) We need to embrace the Lord
A. Fellowship
-Deeper and fuller knowledge of the one in whom we trust.
B. Seek Him
2 Chronicles 15:2 ...The Lord is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
James 4:8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
Promise given to those who trust in Him
A. Knowledge of His word
B. Grace
